Italian Super Cup preview

Inter defeated Juventus to win last year's Italian Super Cup at the San Siro and they are worth backing to repeat the trick against rivals Milan in this season's edition of the event, which is taking place at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The mind games have already begun ahead of what will be only the second meeting between these Milanese rivals in the Italian Super Cup with Simone Inzaghi insisting Milan did not deserve victory in the league meeting between the sides earlier this season and Stefano Pioli teasing that he knows Inter's weak points.

It is sure to be a gritty and fiery affair but the value is with Inter, who have started 2023 with three wins and a draw from four games, including a 1-0 triumph over red-hot Napoli.

Inter became the first team to beat Napoli in Serie A this season and, although they are likely to be without Romelu Lukaku, they look in high spirits.

The same cannot be said for Milan, who have lacked sharpness and confidence recently, drawing with Roma and Lecce in the league either side of a Coppa Italia defeat to Torino in their last three games.
