RB Leipzig had to defend stoutly to keep Marseille at bay in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final, but the Bundesliga outfit may struggle to keep the Ligue 1 side out at the Stade Velodrome on Thursday.

It has been Leipzig's first adventure in European football - they were unable to progress past the group stage of the Champions league - but having claimed a first-leg lead through hotshot striker Timo Werner, that voyage could be about to end.

They face a team who have been imperious at home for the last 12 months having lost just twice in their last 21 matches on their own patch.

One of those losses came in their last-but-one match at the Velodrome when they were sunk by a last-minute Lyon winner.

Leipzig will be boosted by the return of skipper Willi Orban after suspension but they had to weather the storm in the early stages of the first leg and a similarly bold start from the home team could prove a passport to success.

Werner has scored seven goals in his last eight European matches, but it has to be a concern that they have had just a few days to pick themselves up from a 4-1 home defeat to Leverkusen on Monday.

They have suffered eight defeats on the road this season so this could be an occasion when the visitors struggle.

Lazio claimed a 4-2 victory over Salzburg in the first leg of their quarter-final and, having scored nine goals in their last three away matches, it would not be a surprise to see them go on the front foot in Austria.

Bradford v Shrewsbury

However, a draw would not be a bad result and the Eagles will be mindful that they face Roma on Sunday in a derby that is likely to have a huge bearing on their chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League.

Salzburg have conceded just one goal in their last nine league matches but this is a step up in class for them.

Unfortunately, the layers are taking no chances on there being a high-scoring encounter, so there is little value to be found.
