Kick-offs 3pm Saturday

Ross County have started the season superbly and they can progress in the Betfred Cup with victory at Partick Thistle.

The Dingwall men were written off before a ball was kicked in some quarters, but they’ve began the season with five wins and a draw in all competitions. Their draw with Hearts at Tynecastle was perhaps the most impressive performance of that run with Ross outplaying the Jambos.

So it’s a little surprising that they are available at a tempting price to win at Firhill against a Jags side who have been rocked by boardroom instability and the withdrawal of funding by lottery multi-millionaire Colin Weir.

County will also have striker Lee Erwin available after Fifa ruled in their favour following a dispute over his rights with his previous club in Iran, Tractor Sazi.

With Josh Mullin pulling the strings, the Highlanders should have too much quality.

Peterhead look a solid bet to beat struggling Dumbarton at Balmoor Stadium.

Jim Duffy’s side have been in turmoil for much of the summer and that has continued into the new campaign.

The Sons have lost six games in a row, haven’t scored in four games and have been thumped 6-0 at Falkirk and been embarrassed by St Mirren’s Under-20s in their last two games.

Newly-promoted Peterhead will do most of their good work at home this season and although they have struggled to find the net so far, they should get plenty of chances against Dumbarton.

Airdrie can get the better of Clyde in their Ladbrokes League One home clash.

A lot was expected of the Diamonds this season after becoming a full-time club again, but they haven’t been entirely convincing yet.

However, they did win at Montrose last week and have already sneaked past Clyde 3-2 in the Betfred Cup. They are a team who are certainly open to considerable improvement.

The Bully Wee look like they will take some time to adapt to life in Scotland’s third tier following their promotion.

With star man David Goodwillie still short of full fitness, it’s not a bad time to be playing Danny Lennon’s side and Airdrie can get the job the done.
