Luton's Danny Hylton is man to beat in scoring heat
Hotshot Christian Doidge catching the eye for bottom club Forest Green
Luton have scored 51 goals in 22 Sky Bet League Two games - 12 more than any other team in the division - and their goal glut has come as little surprise to bookmakers.
Hatters strikers James Collins (10-1) and Danny Hylton (12-1) were the top two in the ante-post Golden Boot market and the pair have lived up to expectations with 21 goals between them.
Hylton, the third-highest scorer in League Two last season with 22 goals, has been the main man this term especially since injury has restricted Collins to just two substitute appearances in the last six weeks.
Hylton missed the first couple of weeks of the campaign through injury and started slowly in the goalscoring stakes but he has found the net 12 times in his last 14 matches and looks a solid favourite to stay at the top of the scoring charts.
With Luton long odds-on for promotion, there is little temptation for them to cash in on star players in January and the creative talents of Luke Berry, Andrew Shinnie and the Lee brothers mean that Hylton shouldn't be short of scoring chances in the second half of the season.
Forest Green's Christian Doidge, tipped at 33-1 at the start of the season, is handily placed on 11 goals despite the promoted side being bottom at Christmas.
Doidge was heavily linked with higher-division clubs in the summer, however, so his ante-post backers will be hoping he isn't persuaded that the grass is greener away from The New Lawn.
Also on 11 goals are Chesterfield's Kristian Dennis and Jorge Grant of Notts County, who are understandably keen to extend his loan spell from Nottingham Forest, but the rest of the field may well struggle to peg back in-form Hylton.
