Super striker Luka Jovic, 21, first caught the attention when he became the youngest player to score five goals in a Bundesliga match in Eintracht Frankfurt’s 7-1 dismantling of Fortuna Dusseldorf in October.

His five strikes included two well-taken volleys and a thunderous header, perfectly demonstrating the top technique and versatility he possesses.

With Frankfurt on the fringes of a European berth, the Serb sits top of the Bundesliga scoring charts ahead of Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski with 14 goals and three assists, enhancing his reputation as one of the hottest prospects across the continent.

In the Europa League only Salzburg’s Munas Dabbur has more goals than the reported Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool target’s tally of five.

Frankfurt will do well to keep hold of the talent, who showed the composure of a player beyond his years when netting the equaliser in a crunch clash with Dortmund last time out.

They have the option to buy at the end of his two-year loan spell from Benfica at the end of the season.

It all began at Red Star Belgrade, where Jovic became their youngest goalscorer aged 16 years, five months and five days, and the club's general director Zvezdan Terzic is in no doubt about the forward's ability.

He said: "Jovic will become the best striker in Europe."
