Form
Liverpool suffered a huge Champions League blow when losing 2-1 at PSG on Wednesday, but in the Premier League they remain unbeaten, drawing three and winning ten of their 13 fixtures with the dropped points coming against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Cardiff are the only side to score at Anfield against Liverpool in this season's Premier League and they have notched first in 11 of their 13 top-flight fixtures which is bad news for Everton - the Toffees have not won a Merseyside derby after conceding the opener since 1993.

Everton at least make the short trip across Stanley Park trip in good heart with five wins and a draw in their last seven league matches with the sole defeat being a 2-1 reverse at Manchester United.

They have also failed to score only twice, but those were in fixtures away to top-six teams in Chelsea and Arsenal.

Tactical battle
A feature of Everton's recent goalless draw at Stamford Bridge was the deployment of Gylfi Sigurdsson in a hybrid 4-4-2 formation where the Icelandic international and Richarlison often dropped in to make it a 4-6-0 shape out of possession.

Don't be surprised if Marco Silva uses similar tactics with Andre Gomes a calming influence in midfield as they look to spring counter-attacks through the speedy Richarlison, Theo Walcott and Bernard.

Jurgen Klopp has two issues to solve - will he use Mohamed Salah as a central striker with Roberto Firmino in behind and who replaces Jordan Henderson in the base of midfield?

Team news
Liverpool's Jordan Henderson is suspended and Adam Lallana is injured but Everton should be at full-strength.

Verdict
Given Liverpool's trip to Paris on Wednesday this could be a tricky derby for the Reds, who look a little short for a match of this importance. Improving Everton are up to sixth and have had a free week to prepare which gives them a better chance. Draw 1-1.

Key stats
Liverpool have kept five clean sheets in six home Premier League games - no other team in the division have more than three.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last 27 league matches at Anfield.

Everton have been level at the break in ten of their 13 Premier League matches this term.

The Toffees are winless in the last 17 derbies - Kevin Campbell scored on their last Anfield success in 1999.
