Liverpool remain group favourites despite defeat by Napoli

Liverpool remain favourites to top Champions League Group C despite losing 1-0 at Napoli on Wednesday due to a late goal from Lorenzo Insigne.

Paris St-Germain thrashed Red Star Belgrade 6-1 but the Reds are 6-5 to win the section.

It was a disjointed performance from Jurgen Klopp's side, who struggled to create chances and were forced to weather an onslaught from the Serie A club, but it looked as if they would hang on for a point before Insigne netted from close range in the 90th minute.

However, Liverpool will be confident of getting back on track with home and away fixtures against Red Star up next.

Tottenham also suffered a defeat, losing 4-2 to Barcelona at Wembley after a Lionel Messi masterclass.

Messi netted two, but could have had many more, while Harry Kane and Erik Lamela scored for Tottenham.

Spurs remain pointless after two Group B games and are 10-3 to qualify for the knockout stages.
