Leicester midfielder Ndidi will attract a lot of attention
Five things we learned this weekend
1 Ndidi is indeed a major midfield talent
Much has been written about the excellence of Leicester's results under Craig Shakespeare with the champions heading out of the relegation zone and into the Premier League's top half, but on the pitch few players have impressed more than Wilfred Ndidi.
The 20-year-old arrived at the Foxes in January but is already being linked with a move to bigger things, such has been the impact of the energetic midfielder who seems perfect for the physical demands of Premier League.
It was not just his goal against Watford in Saturday's 3-0 win but the overall performance suggested City have filled the vacuum created by N'Golo Kante's departure to Chelsea last summer.
Unfortunately for Leicester they may well face a battle to keep their new midfield star.
2 Coyle main man to blame for Rovers' relegation
It was understandable that Blackburn's supporters took their frustrations out on their unpopular owners after Rovers were relegated from the Sky Bet Championship, but the club's biggest mistake this season was appointing Owen Coyle.
There was a noticeable improvement once Tony Mowbray was named as Coyle's replacement in February with Rovers losing just three of their remaining 15 matches, and two of those came away to second-placed Brighton and third-placed Reading.
A 3-1 win at Brentford on the final day was not enough for them to survive but the difference between Coyle's Blackburn and the one under Mowbray was clear for all to see.
3 Norwich a team to watch next season
Eighth was not good enough for a Norwich side who many felt would challenge for promotion back to the Premier League but the Canaries signed off with a number of decent performances including a 4-0 thumping of QPR on the final day.
Alex Pritchard and Josh Murphy are just two of the younger players capable of making a major impact next season as part of a new-look Norwich. The Canaries announced last week that seven senior players were being culled from the wage bill.
New highly-rated sporting director Stuart Webber is expected to make an impact in the summer and they are a team to keep in mind for a Championship challenge next season.
4 Loss could work out in Exeter's favour
Exeter were furious at the award of two Carlisle penalties during a
3-2 defeat on Saturday but the loss could work in their favour with the Grecians taking on the same side in the Sky Bet League Two playoffs.
Had Paul Tisdale's team picked up a positive result they would, in theory at least, have had a more difficult semi-final against Blackpool.
Carlisle accumulated most of their points much earlier in the campaign and have not looked the same side since leading scorer Charlie Wyke was sold to Bradford in the winter transfer window.
5 The best team won League Two
That is a difficult statement to write - I had an ante-post multiple that included Chelsea, Newcastle and 16-1 Plymouth that would have landed me my biggest ever win - but Portsmouth were the best side in Sky Bet League Two even though it was only goal difference which separated them from Argyle.
Pompey usually dominated possession and the shot count but were sometimes frustrated by opponents who parked the bus.
In some respects they may enjoy playing in Sky Bet League One more than League Two where most of their matches felt like a cup final to their opponents.
