Belenenses v Porto
Sunday 5pm

Porto have been irrepressible in the Primeira Liga and the Champions League this term but their fate in the League Cup still hangs in the balance.

The visitors are level with Chaves on four points at the top of Group C but should have enough to edge past a Belenenses outfit who have lost both their fixtures in the competition.

Defeats to Chaves and Varzim have left Nuno Oliveira’s men unable to progress to the knockout phase but that means they could play with more freedom and notch a consolation.

Porto have won 12 of their 14 league matches this term but recent results have highlighted the top-heavy nature of the team.

Youngster Eder Militao, who has attracted interest from Europe’s big guns, is at the heart of Porto’s defence alongside Felipe but shades of inexperience have shown, with the Dragons shipping in each of their last five games in all competitions.

The away side have the goalscoring prowess of Moussa Marega, who has seven league goals and three assists, so they can be confident of making a mark.

Porto have not made the final of the Portuguese League Cup since 2013 but they can advance with victory over a side they have already beaten in the league and Portuguese Cup this campaign.

Recommendation
Porto to win & both teams to score
