Manchester City have lost the status of Champions League favourites with a number of bookmakers following their 1-0 first-leg quarter-final defeat at Tottenham on Tuesday.

Heung-Min Son's second-half strike sunk City, who have drifted to 100-30 with Betfair, Betfred, Paddy Power and Sky Bet to win their first European Cup.

Barcelona have jumped to the head of the market with some layers, although Betway are still prepared to lay 100-30 before the Catalans head to Old Trafford to tackle Manchester United on Wednesday.

Things may have been different had Sergio Aguero not seen his early penalty saved by Hugo Lloris and Pep Guardiola's side will need to raise their performance levels to stay on course for the quadruple after a strangely subdued display.

Hills rate the Premier League champions 8-11 to overturn the deficit, while Spurs are available at 5-4 with Coral and Ladbrokes to reach the semi-finals.

If Tottenham are to upset the odds they are likely to have to do so without the services of Harry Kane, who suffered yet another ankle injury with the England captain replaced by Lucas Moura at 0-0.

Mauricio Pochettino admitted Kane's season could be over which would be a huge blow for a Spurs side who are 14-1 to win the Champions League.

Tottenham have actually won nine, drawn one and lost just two of the 12 matches Kane has failed to start this term but he remains their talisman, scoring 17 times in this season's Premier League and notching a further five in the Champions League.

Liverpool are 7-2 to lift the Champions League after a comfortable 2-0 first-leg success over Porto at Anfield.

Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino were on target for the Reds, who are 1-33 to make the semi-finals. Porto are 16-1 with bet365 to qualify.
