Analysis

La Liga's two powerhouses look set for a thrilling title race with Barcelona and Real Madrid tied together on 35 points going into their rescheduled Clasico meeting on Wednesday night.

The Catalan giants had scored ten more goals than their bitter rivals and despite suffering more defeats they look the right favourites.

Prospects look bleak for Barcelona's neighbours Espanyol, though. Without a home win all season and five points off safety, they have struggled with the demands of their Europa League campaign and their 25-year stay in La Liga is in jeopardy.

Leganes are also five points from safety having sacked former Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino in October.

The final relegation spot could go to Eibar, who are on a worrying run of results.
