Jiangsu Suning v Henan Jianye: Chinese Super League betting preview & tip
Asian Champions League looks out of reach for Jiangsu
11.35am Tuesday
Five places but only four points separate Jiangsu Suning and Henan Jianye in the crowded mid-table of the Chinese Super League, and, with little for either side to play for, things may be tighter than the odds suggest.
Jiangsu sit 19 points behind Shanghai SIPG who occupy the final Asian Champions League qualifying spot and their form has petered out in the last couple of months with only two wins in their last nine games.
They have been reliant on their home record where they have recorded seven of their eight league victories and lost only twice.
Both of those defeats, however, have come in their last four games at the Nanjing Olympic Centre and Henan may be able to take advantage of the hosts' recent malaise.
They have been inconsistent this season but are dangerous when everything clicks, as wins in the past month over fourth-placed Shandong Luneng and second-placed Beijing Guoan attest to.
They won the reverse fixture 2-1 thanks to goals from Brazilian midfielder Ivo and Cameroonian striker Franck Ohandza and look a shade of value on the Asian handicap getting a hefty start.
Jiangsu signed former Atletico Madrid and Inter centre back Miranda on a free transfer recently, but conceded two goals in the first 26 minutes of his full debut against Rafa Benitez's Dalian Yifang last time out and will need to be much tighter here.
Recommendation
Henan Jianye +1 on Asian handicap
