Preview

Hungary have climbed to the top of Group A3 after taking seven points from their first four matches, but their hopes of qualifying for the Nations League finals could fade with defeat to Germany in Leipzig.

Marco Rossi's Magyars were expected to prop up a section also containing Euro 2022 finalists Italy and England, but they showed they were not just making up the numbers with home and away victories over the Three Lions (1-0 and 4-0) and a 1-1 draw at home to Germany.

Rossi's counter-attacking approach worked a treat against England, who looked out of sorts and distracted in both games, but it could meet with less success against the Germans.

Germany's focus will be on a thorough preparation for the upcoming World Cup but they know two more Nations League victories would be enough to seal top spot and earn themselves another shot at silverware.

They signed off for the summer with a 5-2 success over Italy which would have been even more convincing had they not shipped two goals in the final 15 minutes.

Germany head coach Hansi Flick wants a strong performance from the off against the Hungarians and his team can register a victory and a clean sheet.

Bosnia are unbeaten in Group B3, claiming eight points from four games, and they can clinch promotion to the top tier of the Nations League by defeating second-placed Montenegro in Zenica.

The Bosnians have been faultless on home soil, defeating Romania (1-0) and Finland (3-2), and their attack, spearheaded by former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, should find a way past Montenegro, who are weakened by the absence of injured Atletico Madrid centre-back Stefan Savic.

Montenegro won 3-0 in Romania last time out to stay in the race for first place, but their trip to Bosnia looks a tougher assignment.

Sectional basement boys Romania have been disappointing and their head coach Edward Iordanescu appears to be looking to the future by naming an inexperienced squad for their final two matches.

Iordanescu has selected 14 players with fewer than ten caps to their name and his strategy could open the door for third-placed Finland to claim their second victory of the campaign.
