Copa do Brasil
11.30pm Wednesday

Sandwiched between the end of the state competitions and the resumption of Serie A on Saturday, the first leg of Internacional’s Copa do Brasil fourth-round tie with Vitoria should see plenty of goals.

Internacional have lost just one of their last 11 home matches in all competitions and Vitoria finished top of their state division, the Baiano, only to suffer consecutive defeats in the two-legged final against Bahia.

Each team has had a fairly comfortable path to this round of the competition, with visitors Vitoria dispatching Bragantino 3-1 over two legs and Internacional thumping Cianorte 4-0 on aggregate in the previous round.

Vitoria were second-top scorers in the Baiano, while Internacional had the best goal difference in their state’s equivalent division, the Gaucho.

The hosts are often reliant on skipper and veteran midfielder Andres D’Alessandro who scored against Cianorte in the last round, but they also have Nicolas Lopez, William Pottker and striker Leandro Damiao at their disposal.

Vitoria will be looking to Neilton and Andre Lima for goals - the pair bagged nine between them across the nine-game Baiano season.

Recommendation
Both teams to score
2pts 11-8 Hills
