Injury-hit Aldershot unlikely to halt promotion hunting Wrexham
Improving Barrow may add to Solihull Moors' disappointment
Kick-offs 3pm Saturday
Wrexham have not been outside the National League's top four since mid-August and they can bolster their promotion push by beating injury-ravaged Aldershot at the Recreation Ground.
Aldershot had nine senior players unavailable at the start of the week and manager Gary Waddock selected from his academy squad for Tuesday's FA Trophy first-round replay at Bedford.
The young Shots were hammered 7-0 but Waddock felt he had to protect his remaining fit senior players.
News of Aldershot's problems has filtered through to the markets but the gamble on Wrexham may not have gone far enough.
The Red Dragons won 3-0 at home to Boston in the FA Trophy first round and are boosted by the return from injury of centre-back and captain Shaun Pearson.
Wrexham should also be feeling a little more settled after the midweek decision to hand Graham Barrow the managerial reins on a permanent basis.
Barrow is busy preparing a list of January transfer targets but has a strong team who should deliver for favourite-backers this weekend.
Solihull Moors suffered the massive disappointment of a 3-2 loss at Blackpool in an FA Cup second-round replay on Tuesday – denying them a home tie against Arsenal – and they may not have fully recovered in time for their home game against Barrow.
The game at Blackpool went to extra-time and the mental and physical exertions are likely to have taken a toll on Moors, who are worth a lay at odds-on.
Barrow have climbed into the top half after back-to-back wins and should secure at least another point.
