Kick-offs 3pm Monday

The Bank Holiday weekend is a busy time for National League clubs and the challenge of playing two games in three days may be too much for Chester, who look ripe for opposing when they host Macclesfield at the Deva Stadium.

Macclesfield have the advantage of an extra day to prepare, having beaten Dover 1-0 at Moss Rose on Friday night.

The three points lifted Macc from 18th to 15th and they will be eyeing a push for the playoffs if they can achieve back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Chester achieved their first victory of the season on Saturday, coming from behind to win 2-1 at highflying Aldershot.

However, it was a smash-and-grab affair as Chester soaked up a lot of pressure and the Blues may not have much fuel left in the tank for the tussle with Macclesfield.

Hartlepool's nightmare start to the season continued with a 2-0 loss at home to AFC Fylde on Saturday and further despair could be in store when the Monkey Hangers take on Guiseley at Nethermoor.

Both teams are struggling towards the wrong end of the table but Guiseley are used to scrapping for survival and have been decent at home, winning one and drawing two of their three games.

Guiseley showed a lot a spirit to climb out of the bottom four last season and are meeting Hartlepool at the right time.

Pools have had a miserable week, selling star striker Padraig Amond and losing to Fylde, and their problems may continue.
