Harrogate out to continue promotion push over misfiring Maidenhead
Daggers good value to put Hartlepool to the sword
3pm Saturday
Harrogate came away from Salford empty-handed mid-week but can make amends when they visit Maidenhead.
Simon Weaver’s side led twice in that encounter before losing 3-2, but have shown they know where the net is having scored ten goals across their last four games.
That kind of firepower could prove too much for the Magpies, who have notched just once in their last five at York Road, while conceding the most goals in the league.
Harrogate have proved their worth since promotion to the National League last year, and can continue to state their case for a playoff place with a convincing win.
Elsewhere table-toppers Leyton Orient host Gateshead and though the O’s are likely to come away with the victory they could be in for a shaky start.
The Londoners have been slow to get going in matches this season but stamina in the second half has regularly seen them prevail, highlighted by their 2-0 win at Wrexham last week which saw both goals come in the last five minutes.
The Tynesiders rose to seventh on Tuesday after a road victory over Barnet, and they have conceded just 18 goals across 22 matches.
The first half could be closely contested, but Orient look good value to claim all three points in the second half.
Fellow Londoners Dagenham & Redbridge travel north to take on managerless Hartlepool, and Peter Taylor’s side look overpriced to earn a victory.
The Daggers are in great form and have won five of their last six, which has seen them climb four points clear of the drop zone.
Conversely Hartlepool are without a win in their last nine, which contributed to manager Matthew Bates being relieved of his duties this week, and that run could continue.
