Brazilian champions Atletico Mineiro hold an unassailable 11-point lead over second-placed Flamengo and they look excellent value to avoid defeat at relegation-threatened Gremio in their final match of the season.

The markets favour the struggling hosts, who are odds-on to get the three points required to have any hope of preserving top-flight status.

However, Gremio's path to salvation looks precarious because they also require relegation rivals Bahia and Juventude to lose their final matches.

Given that Juventude are odds-on favourites at home to Corinthians and Bahia are long odds-on to take at least a point at Fortaleza, there is minimal hope of a great escape for Gremio and, if the news from elsewhere is unfavourable, it may impact on their own performance.

Atletico Mineiro may lack their usual motivation but they have taken 25 points from their last nine matches and their sheer quality may give the the edge.

The leaders were 2-1 winners at home to Gremio last month and can deliver the final blow to the Porto Alegre outfit's slim survival hopes.
