Galway's short price is difficult to justify
It is one of the League of Ireland’s many quirks that by the time Galway United next play at home, they will have gone six weeks without a match at Terryland.
For a club reliant on revenue from crowds, it is not an ideal situation, and could be part of the reason why the club have let go John Sullivan, Eric Foley and Ruairi Keating, the last-named having joined tonight’s rivals, Finn Harps. None of these players were indispensable to Galway, yet their loss will inevitably stretch their squad.
