Accrington v Tranmere

Tranmere have a woeful record in the EFL Cup, having lost in the first round in each of the last four seasons, and the misery may continue at Accrington. Stanley have collected four points from their first two games in League One while Rovers have suffered defeat in their opening two League Two assignments.

MK Dons v Sutton

Last season's League One playoff contenders MK Dons should be far too strong for their League Two visitors Sutton. Dons have lost their opening two league games 1-0 against Cambridge and Sheffield Wednesday but manager Liam Manning has said he wants to keep a rhythm so will deploy a strong side.

Ipswich v Colchester

Colchester make the short trip to Portman Road looking to spring a surprise against their near neighbours from League One, but it is hard to envisage. The Tractor Boys are genuine promotion contenders from the third tier and manager Kieran McKenna insists he is keen to progress in this competition, so expect a strong look to their starting 11.

Luton v Newport

Two divisions separate Luton and Newport in the Football League and the Championship Hatters should make their class tell at Kenilworth Road. Exiles manager James Rowberry suggests changes may be made and that may be costly as Luton have far greater resources and have lost only two of their last 17 competitive home games.
