Team news

Brentford
Brentford are likely to rotate their side with Tuesday night's Championship fixture against Nottingham Forest in mind. Emiliano Marcondes could be in line for a start.

Leicester
Jamie Vardy is out injured. Kelechi Iheanacho may be held back for the EFL Cup semi-final meaning Ayoze Perez or Harvey Barnes could start. Wes Morgan could return in defence.

Match preview

Leicester have the squad depth to progress in the FA Cup by beating Sky Bet Championship side Brentford.

Brentford are enjoying a wonderful final season at Griffin Park. One defeat in their last eight games has propelled the Bees into the promotion shake-up in the second tier.

There is now a genuine chance that Brentford could be kicking off life in their new stadium at Kew Bridge as a Premier League club.

But Brentford face a tough task as they host Premier League highflyers Leicester in what could be the last FA Cup tie at their home of 116 years.

The Foxes bounced back from successive Premier League defeats with a 4-1 win over West Ham and Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of how important he views cup competitions this season.

Leicester visit Aston Villa on Tuesday in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final and with that tie finely balanced at 1-1, that game will surely take priority.

However, Leicester have shown on numerous occasions this season that they can make changes without affecting their performances.

Rodgers made nine changes for their away fixture against West Ham last month and Leicester won far more comfortably than the 2-1 scoreline suggested.

There were also wholesale changes for their FA Cup third-round match against Wigan.

Brentford may also mix it up. Boss Thomas Frank will have half an eye on an important midweek game against Nottingham Forest.

Since losing to Huddersfield in November, the Bees have won their last six home fixtures but they have not beaten Premier League opposition since a League Cup victory over Everton in 2010.

Only Liverpool have taken more points than Leicester have away from home in the Premier League this season but the Foxes were unusually flat at Burnley last weekend when they were deservedly beaten 2-1.

Leicester have been knocked out by lower-league opposition in two of the last three seasons, losing to Millwall in 2017 and Newport last year. They may have to be patient at Griffin Park and backing the Draw-Leicester double result appeals, but they should keep their hopes of a first FA Cup triumph alive.

Key stat

Brentford have conceded just nine goals in 13 home league games this season.
