Betting preview

Nottingham Forest have taken ten points from four matches under Steve Cooper and their remarkable revival can continue with a victory over Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

The return of crowds has contributed to increased home advantage for many teams but it doesn't seem to have made any difference for City, who have gone 16 matches since their last victory on home soil.

Nigel Pearson's side were beaten 2-0 by leaders Bournemouth at the weekend and have the misfortune to be running into another of the league's form teams.

Forest must have feared a relegation battle after taking one point from their opening seven games but they head to the west country on a three-game winning streak and look a solid bet to secure the spoils.

Cheltenham should be more than happy with a 15-point haul from their opening 12 games in League One and their season can get even better with a home victory over Morecambe in a battle between newly-promoted teams.

Third-tier survival will be the aim for both clubs but it could be a close run thing for Morecambe, who are conceding far too many goals.

The Shrimps have leaked at least three goals in three of their last four league games and their vulnerability could be seized upon by Cheltenham, who were rock-solid when winning 1-0 at home to Accrington on Saturday.

Mid-table Portsmouth are under pressure to improve after winning just one of their last nine League One games but their problems could increase with a poor result at home to Ipswich.

Danny Cowley's side were hammered 4-1 at Rotherham on Saturday and even the return from suspension of key forward Ronan Curtis may not be enough to turn their fortunes around.

Ipswich squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Cambridge on Saturday but they are on the upgrade, losing just one of six league matches, and can plunder maximum points at Fratton Park.
