Nathan Jones believes that his Luton team deserve more points than they have picked up so far this season and their fortunes may be set to change at home to highflying Coventry.

The Hatters find themselves without a win in six but were left to rue missed chances as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Luton edged the shot count 9-6 against the league leaders and have fared well considering the tough set of fixtures they have had to contend with.

Jones’s men played out four consecutive draws against Sheffield United, Blackburn, Bristol City and Swansea prior to their loss against the Cherries.

And armed with home advantage, Luton make great appeal against Coventry, who have won all five fixtures at the Ricoh Arena but have collected just four points from as many matches on the road.

The Sky Blues have won six of their opening nine games but only one of their victims - ninth-placed Reading - find themselves in the Championship’s top half.

Cov have suffered away defeats at Barnsley and QPR as well as being held to a draw at Millwall and may be frustrated by Luton, who are better than their 16th-placed position implies.

There are three more non-televised matches taking place in the Championship as pace-setting Bournemouth head to Peterborough, troubled Derby host Reading and Millwall lock horns with Bristol City.
