Expect a Lincoln win to get them up for the cup

National League leaders Lincoln take on Arsenal in an FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday and can warm up for the big occasion in the right manner by defeating Braintree in Essex.

The Imps' FA Cup run has been one of the stories of the season and it doesn't seem to be having a negative impact on their promotion push.

Of the six league matches which have preceded FA Cup ties this season, Lincoln have won four, drawn one and lost one.

And manager Danny Cowley insists that the only thing on his mind is Braintree - one of his former clubs, who he led to third in the National League last season.

Cowley said: "I am looking forward to Braintree more than the Emirates."

The key is getting the Lincoln players to adopt the same attitude because it is getting tight at the top with five points covering the top four teams.

However, Lincoln have won on each of their last five road trips and can extend the sequence to six against a Braintree side who are 17 places and 28 points below them.

Second-placed Tranmere are also in action but face a tougher match at playoff-chasing Barrow.

England's women secured a surprise 1-0 victory over USA in their second match of the SheBelieves Cup in New Jersey on Saturday and will try to topple another giant when they take on Germany in Washington.

The Lionesses will win the competition if they defeat Germany and group leaders France draw with the USA.
