The new European Super League - will it go ahead and all the betting fallout
Bookmakers suspend betting on this season's Champions League
The future of football could change dramatically with the formation of a European Super League but it may also have ramifications for this season's European competitions.
Uefa have threatened to kick out the 12 teams associated with the new tournament - Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Milan, Juventus and Inter - and bookmakers have suspended betting on the Champions League and Europa League in case Europe's governing body takes sanctions for this season.
Danish Uefa member Jesper Moller told Reuters: "The clubs must go and I expect that to happen on Friday."
City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, along with Paris St-Germain, who have not joined the controversial dozen breakaways.
Arsenal and United are in the Europa League with Roma and Villarreal and there is potential for two all-Premier League finals should they be able to participate.
Speculative punters have forced Leicester's Premier League title odds down to 29 on the Betfair Exchange. They are 18 points behind City with some pundits calling for those involved to face a deduction.
Paddy Power are 13-5 that United and City don't get to play in next season's Champions League and it's 17-10 all of the Premier League's big six have fulfilled a European Super League fixture before 2025.
They are 4-1 to be kicked out of the Premier League before the start of next season.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel became one of the biggest names to be pressed on the new Super League and he said: "There are many emotional reactions out there, which I can understand, but I honestly don’t know enough to judge it.
"I was not involved and my players were not involved in these decision makings. Maybe it’s better to step back and not to give our opinions or lose our heads about this."
