Borussia Monchengladbach have been among the Champions League surprise packages this season, sitting top of a section featuring Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk, and they will hope they can translate that form to the Bundesliga.

Gladbach, who have beaten Donetsk 10-0 on aggregate in their last two European endeavours, have been slow-starting in the league but a clash with strugglers Schalke presents them with the chance for maximum points.

Manuel Baum has been unable to save a sinking ship in Gelsenkirchen and Schalke are rock-bottom of the Bundesliga on only three points from eight assignments.

Only Hoffenheim (27) have used more players than Schalke (25) this season and the visitors are struggling for consistency with five defeats suffered already in 2020-21.

Gladbach have been solid but far from barnstorming in the Bundesliga and can be expected to grind out a win.

Sevilla look a decent bet at odds-against to win at Huesca this weekend but to squeeze more value out of the selection, punters should back the Andalusians to win in a game featuring under 3.5 goals.

Last season's Europa League winners have made a slow start to the La Liga season with four wins from eight games but they have won their last four on the spin in all competitions.

As for Huesca, they are winless from their opening ten fixtures, namely due to a lack of quality in the final third.

They have scored only eight times in their ten league games and with over 3.5 goals featuring in only two of Sevilla's last nine contests, punters should back a low-scoring victory.

One of the best value bets of the weekend is in Ligue 1 with Lille looking overprice at 3-4 to see off out-of-form St-Etienne.

St-Etienne have had a wobbly start to the season but last week's 4-1 hammering by struggling Brest confirmed the problems may run deeper than first expected.

They have lost seven league matches on the spin and are close to dropping into the relegation zone.

As for Lille they have enjoyed a strong week which featured a 4-0 thrashing of lowly Lorient before an admirable 1-1 draw with resurgent Milan in the Europa League.

They are hot on the heels of Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1's early title race, collecting 22 points from their 11 matches and losing only once.

The likes of Yusuf Yazici and summer signing Jonathan David make from an exciting front line, who can steer them towards another three points in France's top division.
