Euro U21 Championship Group C guide: draw is a concern for exciting young Lions
England | France | Romania | Croatia
England
There is understandable excitement regarding England's squad, particularly with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and James Maddison involved. The draw is the biggest concern with the young Lions facing an equally exciting France first up.
Manager: Aidy Boothroyd
Key player: James Maddison
France
They have the most talented squad on paper with club combinations in key positions presumably aiding France's chances. Their record at this level stinks (this is their first qualification since 2006 and they have won it only once, in 1988). They lost 3-1 to Austria in a warm-up friendly so can they be trusted?
Manager: Sylvain Ripoll
Key player: Houssem Aouar
Romania
They qualified ahead of Portugal and there will be plenty of fuss regarding Iania Hagi - son of the sensational Gheorghe Hagi. However, the group draw has been unkind and keeper Andrei Radu should be busy.
Manager: Mirel Radoi
Key player: Andrei Radu
Croatia
For a small nation Croatia are capable of punching above their weight at senior level, but they have never managed to make that count for much at this level. They only just squeezed past Greece in qualifying and this is much tougher.
Manager: Nenad Gracan
Key player: Nikola Vlasic
