England ease to friendly win over USA at Wembley in Wayne Rooney's farewell
Gareth Southgate's side 7-1 to lift Nations League trophy
England beat USA 3-0 in an international friendly win at Wembley and the good news continued for Gareth Southgate with Croatia beating Spain in Zagreb to keep the Three Lions' Nations League hopes alive.
Jesse Lingard curled in the opener and Trent Alexander-Arnold quickly doubled England's advantage.
Wayne Rooney was introduced as a second-half substitute in his farewell appearance to earn his 120th cap but it was Bournemouth's Callum Wilson who completed the scoring on his England debut.
Croatia's 3-2 win over Spain has set up a fascinating final-day shootout to qualify for the Nations League finals next summer when the World Cup finalists head to Wembley on Sunday to meet in a rematch of their semi-final against England in Russia.
A win for either team would see them top the group. Spain are only able to qualify if the game is a draw and bet365 rate England 7-1 to be crowned Nations League champions.
