Eintracht Frankfurt v Strasbourg
7.30pm Thursday

Eintracht Frankfurt will hope to overturn a 1-0 deficit when they host Strasbourg in the second leg of the Europa League playoff. Adi Hutter's men came unstuck in the Stade de la Meinau largely due to an underwhelming performance up front.

Striker Ante Rebic was hauled off at half-time after a performance that did nothing to silence critics who feel the loss of last year's star duo Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller has severely weakened the side.

Rebic's replacement Goncalo Paciencia is likely to be leading the line for the hosts as new striker Bas Dost's arrival was confirmed only on Monday and he will not feature. Paciencia is hoping to add to his three goals in the Europa League this season and he netted in the side's last match, away to Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht should be confident of making the group stage of the competition as they are unbeaten in their last 15 home ties in the Europa League.

Their opponents travel with a one-goal cushion but they are tough to back given that they have won only three of their last 13 games away from home.

Thierry Laurey's men have problems of their own up front, managing only one shot on target in the first leg at home, and they are unlikely to create many chances.

Last year's Europa League semi-finalists Eintracht will benefit from passionate support at the Commerzbank-Arena and are worth backing to qualify from the tie.

Recommendation
Eintracht Frankfurt to qualify
1pt 4-6 general
