Match preview

Wolves were unlucky to be held to a 2-2 draw at Liverpool in Saturday's FA Cup third-round clash but they appear to be making rapid progress under Julen Lopetegui and can get the better of Nottingham Forest in their EFL Cup quarter-final at the City Ground.

Lopetegui's team are second-bottom of the Premier League but their performance at Anfield was the latest in a positive trend which suggests that they have a good chance of climbing out of trouble.

Wolves' intensity levels have increased and they head to Nottingham unbeaten in their last four road trips.

Forest face a tough test and have questions to answer after crashing out of the FA Cup with a 4-1 defeat at Blackpool.

The Tricky Trees' manager Steve Cooper is likely to respond by selecting a few more first-choice players than he did at Bloomfield Road but confidence has been damaged and fast-improving Wolves are primed to take advantage.

Key stat

Wolves are unbeaten in their last four away matches.
