Ecuador to get back on track in Quito
From 10pm, Tuesday
Ecuador dropped out of South America's automatic World Cup qualifying slots with a 2-1 loss away to Paraguay on Thursday but they can climb back into the top four by defeating Colombia in Quito.
Playing home games at over 9,000 feet above sea level is a big advantage for Ecuador, who have taken 13 points from a possible 18 at the Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa.
Ten members of Ecuador's squad play in the nation's domestic league, ensuring they are much better acclimatised than the visiting players.
Colombia would probably settle for a draw - enough to keep them one point above Ecuador in the standings - but it will be easier said than done.
Los Cafeteros have not won a competitive match in Quito since October 1996 and they are without star striker Radamel Falcao, who missed out on the squad due to injury.
They needed an 83rd-minute goal from James Rodriguez to scrape a 1-0 victory at home to Bolivia but must improve if they are to avoid defeat in Quito.
Mexico are leading the Concacaf standings after banking seven points from three games and can strengthen their position by defeating Trinidad & Tobago in Port of Spain.
El Tri have shown their quality with victories away to USA (2-1) and at home to Costa Rica (2-0) and should be far too slick for their Caribbean hosts, who look the weakest team in the section.
Trinidad & Tobago picked up their first points on Friday when winning 1-0 at home to Panama.
However, the Soca Warriors lost 2-0 at Costa Rica in their previous home game and will probably struggle to cope with arguably the strongest team in the group.
