Houston Dynamo were denied victory by an injury-time equaliser against Vancouver Whitecaps last time out but they have the firepower to extinguish any threat from Chicago Fire.

The visitors have played some of the most exciting football in the division this term, failing to score in just one MLS match in 2018, and their goal tally of 20 ranks among the best in either conference.

Chicago have claimed victory in just one of their last four MLS encounters and were on the end of a 3-0 thumping by Columbus Crew in their last game.

A reluctance to play anything but open and expansive football has stung Dynamo at times and they have lost a third of their matches in this campaign, but their gung-ho approach should pay dividends against a fragile Chicago team lacking key personnel.

Full-backs Matt Polster and Drew Conner are nursing injuries, as are Luis Solignac and Jon Bakero. Chicago boss Veljko Paunovic has used 24 players already this season, the third-highest tally in the league, and Houston can pounce on their unsettled hosts at Toyota Park.

Dynamo have netted in both halves in three of their last four games and they look value to score either side of the break against a Chicago team with dwindling prospects.

Recommendation
Houston Dynamo to score in both halves
