Dundalk and St Patrick's look Irish bankers
Bohemians also worth following
From 7.30pm Friday
Dundalk v Shamrock Rovers, live on RTE 2
Dundalk are on the cusp of going nine games without conceding and they will fancy their chance of beating Shamrock Rovers at a heaving Oriel Park in the live game.
The Lilywhites may have to rely on goalie Gabriel Sava in nets with Gary Rogers injured, but they look a decent price to beat the Hoops, whose form on their travels has been pretty patchy, even if they are having quite a good season.
Dundalk failed to win either of their first couple of matches but have been on a roll since. They give every impression they are clicking into gear and were especially impressive in beating Cork City at Oriel earlier in the season.
Rovers have the brilliant Graham Burke but seem to also have goalkeeping issues, with Stephen Bradley unsure who to go with, and likely starter Kevin Horgan will be under pressure.
The best play appears to be a double of Dundalk and St Patrick's, who are at home to an out-of-sorts Bray. Wanderers have lost eight on the spin, their morale clearly very low, and Pat's are going well this season. Specifically they are not conceding goals too often.
The Saints need Christy Fagan to start scoring but they should dominate this game and the goals ought to follow with Bray dire at the back.
Perhaps the most fascinating game is Waterford and Cork City's Munster derby at the RSC. Blues can go two points ahead of City if they win, quite an incentive, and they can certainly fancy their prospects. Cork have not been especially impressive this season, for all that they are still top.
Bohs are a confident selection to beat Limerick, who are desperately short of offensive options. Generally the Gypsies have been competitive, and Dinny Corcoran should be able to prove the difference in an important game for the Dubliners.
Sligo Rovers host Derry in the northwest derby, with the odds about right, while Galway are worth backing draw no bet in Division One against Finn Harps, who could not beat Athlone last weekend.
