Defensive issues look set to hurt Hungary again

Hungary marked their return to major tournament football for the first time in 30 years with a run to the last 16 at Euro 2016 but they have started World Cup qualifying with a 0-0 draw away to the Faroe Islands and may be heading for defeat at home to Switzerland on Friday night.

There were some encouraging displays from the Hungarians this summer. They won Group F, finishing two points ahead of Portugal, but exited the finals in a disappointing fashion with a 4-0 defeat to Belgium.

Bernd Storck’s side conceded seven goals in their last two matches at the Euros and sloppy defending could be an issue for them this evening, especially as they adjust to life without 94-cap defensive kingpin Roland Juhasz, who retired from international football this summer.
