European champions Portugal begin their World Cup qualifying campaign at St-Jakob Park, which is a fortress at club level for Basel and a ground where Switzerland are also hard to beat.

Portugal are without the injured Cristiano Ronaldo and hope they can get off to a better start than they did on the road to Euro 2016, which began with a defeat against Albania.

It’s no great surprise that the draw is a short price but it does look the pick of the outright bets given the two solid defences.
