Team news

Crystal Palace
Christian Benteke is still struggling with a thigh strain and is expected to miss the clash, while Wilfried Zaha is set for a scan on a calf injury picked up last time out and is unlikely to feature. Vicente Guaita, Martin Kelly, Jeffrey Schlupp and James Tomkins are still sidelined.

Burnley
Strike pair Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes are still recovering from injuries while there is a doubt over Jay Rodriguez, who picked up a knock against Watford. Johann Berg Gudmundsson is not back with the first team after a calf injury and Robbie Brady faces a late fitness test after picking up a groin strain.

Match preview

A Monday night classic is not expected at Selhurst Park as Crystal Palace and Burnley both look safe from Premier League relegation and face selection dilemmas.

Neither side have been prolific in front of goal, scoring just 63 times between them, and a tepid affair is expected with under 2.5 goals looking the sensible betting strategy.

Both teams have 42 points from 31 games, with the Eagles one place higher due to their better goal difference, and there is relatively little at stake in their remaining seven matches.

Palace suffered a thumping 4-0 defeat at Liverpool last time out, ending a four-game winning run, but that clash against the new champions is probably best written off.

Roy Hodgson's men will welcome a return to Selhurst Park, despite there being no spectators, as they have won their last two home games 1-0 against Newcastle United and Watford.

Scoring goals has been an issue for the Eagles, who have netted just 28 times - only rock-bottom Norwich have registered fewer, while they have scored more than one goal in only one of their last 11 home league matches.

The expected absence of Wilfried Zaha, who lasted just 15 minutes against Liverpool before going off with an injury, further limits the attacking options available to Hodgson and goals should be hard to come by.

Palace have thrived in defence this season, conceding only 36 times - the sixth-best record in the division - while they have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four Premier League matches against Burnley.

The Clarets showed great resilience to bounce back from a 5-0 hammering by Manchester City when defeating Watford 1-0 at Turf Moor on Thursday.

Like Palace, Burnley have struggled in the final third this term, scoring just 35 times, and they will again be without strike duo Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes, who have netted 17 times between them.

Under 2.5 goals have been scored in three of the Lancashire outfit's last four league matches, while they have netted only twice in their last four top-flight games.

Before the City thrashing, Sean Dyche's men had one of the best defensive records outside of the top-eight sides and they showcased their usual solidity in the win over the Hornets.

Given their injury problems, Dyche could see this as a perfect time to blood some youngsters but that could result in a disjointed performance.

Key stat

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Crystal Palace's last five home league games
