Crewe could be dragged into frenzied scrap for EFL survival
Yeovil also tumbling down the table
There is usually a frenzied scrap to avoid filling the two relegation places in Sky Bet League Two and another battle royale at the bottom looks likely this season.
Just four points separate Crawley in 17th and bottom club Forest Green and no team are shorter than 2-1 to drop out of the Football League.
Yeovil are joint-favourites with Morecambe and the Glovers, recommended by Racing Post Sport ante-post, have been tumbling down the table in recent weeks.
They responded well to an 8-2 drubbing at Luton on the opening day but have taken only two points from six games since the start of November.
They have had a tough run, with defeats to high-flying Lincoln and Wycombe and creditable draws with Notts County and Mansfield in their last four outings, but Glovers fans will be concerned that teams around them are picking up.
Chesterfield have improved under Jack Lester after a shocking start to the season while Barnet have won three of their six games in all competitions since Mark McGhee's arrival.
Perennial survivors Morecambe are in trouble once again while bottom club Forest Green are desperate to repel January bids for star striker Christian Doidge.
It's a tricky betting heat but Crewe may well trade shorter than their current odds for the drop.
The Railwaymen made a solid start with three wins and two draws in their first six matches, peaking with a 5-1 home thrashing of Chesterfield.
Since then, however, they have lost 12 of 16 including a particularly worrying run of defeats in October and November. They scored first in the 3-1 defeat at Colchester and the 4-1 reverse at home to Lincoln before blowing 1-0 and 2-1 leads to lose 3-2 to Forest Green.
