Montrose should pile more misery on Cowdenbeath

Flying Stenny can add to Clyde's troubles

Montrose are on a great run of form and face a team who can't buy a win or even a goal. Yet the Links Park side are odds-against to triumph at Cowdenbeath.

Blue Brazil manager Billy Brown threw in the towel this week. The former Hearts, Hibs and Killie assistant is an experienced coach yet had clearly seen enough at Central Park and left after another defeat at Berwick Rangers, their ninth in ten outings.

While Cowdenbeath seem doomed, Montrose should be full of confidence after four wins in five games. It's hard to see anything other than more heartache for Cowdenbeath.

Stenhousemuir are a form side in Ladbrokes League Two and they can beat another managerless club when they welcome Clyde to Ochilview.

The Bully Wee are perennial title favourites, but every year they seem to massively underachieve and this week it cost manager Jim Chapman his job.

Despite poaching almost an entire team from former club Annan Athletic, things didn't work out for Chapman and he was fired by the struggling Cumbernauld side.

In contrast, Stenny are flying under Brown Ferguson and, like Montrose, have won four of their last five games.

That included a hugely impressive 2-1 win at leaders Stirling Albion last week which could have been by an even bigger margin.

Hotshot Mark McGuigan already has 11 goals for the season and he will fancy it against Clyde's creaky defence as they have conceded 11 times in their last three league games.

Motherwell seem too big a price to win at Ross County.

The Lanarkshire side were going great guns after dismantling Rangers in the Betfred Cup semi-final, although they suffered a setback last week when they lost to in-form Hibs.

But there's little reason why Ross - even with new boss Owen Coyle at the helm - should be considered big favourites, especially when they have won just once in the league this season in Dingwall.

Well are full of confidence and could enjoy a decent trip to the Highlands.
