Sixth-placed Chorley owe their place in the National League North playoffs to fifth-placed Darlington 1883's failure to fulfil necessary stadium criteria and they can take advantage of their good fortune by overcoming second-placed Kidderminster in the semi-finals.

Chorley missed out on the chance of a top-five finish when losing 2-0 at home to third-placed Halifax on Saturday.

But they did well in league matches against Kidderminster this season - drawing 0-0 on the road and winning 2-1 at home - and look overpriced to defeat the same side over two legs.

Salford hope to continue their rise up the divisions by winning the National League North playoffs but may be faced with a deficit after the home leg of their semi-final against Halifax.

Only champions AFC Fylde have a better away record than Halifax, who have taken 16 points from their last six road trips.
