National League fixtures are thin on the ground this weekend, but an exciting showdown looks likely in National League North when Chester host Altrincham.

Both sides are among the division’s top scorers with 31 goals each and Chester have found the net at least three times in four of their last five home games, while their opponents are yet to draw a blank in any of their road trips this term.

Preference however lies with the Cheshire side, who are unbeaten in their last 11 league matches and will be motivated to continue that run as they sit one point off the top of the table.

However their hopes of going top of the pile could be scuppered when Bradford PA head to Curzon Ashton.

Mark Bower’s side are second on goal difference behind Chorley, but have been scoring for fun lately with ten goals in their last two away matches.

Striker Jake Beesley scored twice at York last weekend and could add to his tally against a Curzon defence who are yet to keep a home clean sheet this season.

In the National League South Bath travel to Wealdstone in what looks set to be a cagey affair.

They are both in the playoff places on 25 points which is largely down to their strength at the back, conceding a combined 29 goals across their 30 matches played.

Six of Bath’s eight road trips have featured fewer than three goals and that run looks set to continue at Grosvenor Avenue.
