Chelsea set for cosy Women's FA Cup final triumph
The Blues have been in scintillating form this season
Women's FA Cup Final
BBC1, 5.30pm Saturday
Chelsea Ladies have performed well in all competitions this season, tussling with Manchester City for the Super League title and making the Champions League last four, and they can lift the Women's FA Cup with victory over Arsenal at Wembley.
The Blues progressed to the final with a comfortable 2-0 home victory over league leaders Manchester City, courtesy of Fran Kirby’s brace, and can win the trophy for the second time.
Arsenal snatched victory at the death in a 2-1 semi-final win at Everton and, despite having lifted the trophy a record 14 times, could struggle to breach the Super League’s tightest defence.
Chelsea have shipped just nine goals in their 14 league games this campaign and are yet to concede in this season’s FA Cup.
The match is a repeat of the 2016 final in which Danielle Carter’s goal gave the Gunners a 1-0 victory, but Arsenal have undergone transition since then, not least the arrival of new manager Joe Montemurro, and could struggle against an in-form Blues outfit.
