The cream has very definitely risen to the top early in Sky Bet League One with the top six in the pre-season betting filling the first seven places as we head towards Christmas.
Punters looking for a yuletide plunge into the icy waters of the third-tier title race probably need look no further than the top seven.
Indeed, if the last two seasons are anything to go by then the top three will still be the top three (though not necessarily in the same order) in May, and bookmakers certainly aren’t looking past Portsmouth, Sunderland and Luton. It’s 11-1 bar that trio in places.
