Club Brugge v PSG

Where to watch

BT Sport ESPN, 8pm

Best bet

Draw
1pt 16-5 general

Match preview

Paris St-Germain have made a perfect start to life in the Champions League, but they look a little bit on the short side for a potentially tricky trip to Club Brugge.

PSG have overcome injury problems to see off Real Madrid 3-0 and Galatasaray 1-0, although it was hard work in Istanbul before Mauro Icardi broke the deadlock.

Kylian Mbappe has returned to fitness and scored in Friday’s 4-1 win at Nice, but Idrissa Gueye’s absence in midfield could be keenly felt against the underrated Belgians.

Club Brugge, top of the class domestically and still unbeaten, are on a decent run in the Champions League. Last term they held Borussia Dortmund and Atletico and drew 2-2 at Real Madrid this season.

Key stat

Paris St-Germain have scored in their last 26 Champions League matches.

Galatasaray v Real Madrid

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 2, 8pm

Best bet

Eden Hazard first goalscorer
1pt 5-1 bet365

Match preview

A final in hell was how one Spanish newspaper described Real Madrid’s trip to Istanbul and Zinedine Zidane’s future looks uncertain if the Spanish side lose to Galatasaray.

Real are under pressure following Saturday’s 1-0 loss away to Real Mallorca and they come into this Champions League clash with only one point on the board after losing to Paris St-Germain and drawing
at home with Club Brugge.

Thankfully for Zidane, Gala have won only one of their last 17 European fixtures and it would not be a major surprise if Madrid showed more focused with their record of qualifying for 23 straight knockout phases under threat.

Eden Hazard returns to the squad and is as likely as anyone to open the scoring.

Key stat

Real Madrid have conceded 13 goals in their last five Champions League fixtures.

Juventus v Lokomotiv Moscow

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 3, 8pm

Best bet

Juventus-Juventus double result
1pt 3-4 Coral

Match preview

Cristiano Ronaldo loves a record and another is in sight for the Portuguese superstar when Lokomotiv Moscow rock up in Turin.
Ronaldo, like Real Madrid legend Raul, has scored against 33 different sides in the Champions League.

Never before has he notched against Lokomotiv which suggests visiting goalkeeper Guilherme will be peppered by Ronaldo as he goes in search of another landmark moment in his remarkable career.

Juventus have not been producing perfect performances, but Juve have won six on the spin, and should have few problems making it seven on matchday three.

Loko have 29 points from their first 13 league matches but don’t come up against quality like Ronaldo often.

Key stat

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 701 career goals.

Olympiakos v Bayern Munich

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 4, 8pm

Best bet

Bayern Munich & over 2.5 goals
1pt 10-11 BoyleSports, Coral

Match preview

Matchday two was the most perfect night in Niko Kovac’s Bayern Munich managerial career as the Germans thumped seven goals past Tottenham, but how he must wish they could play Spurs every week.

Bayern have not won since – they lost 2-1 at home to Hoffenheim before the international break and then drew 2-2 away to Augsburg on Saturday.

That all-Bavarian dust-up saw Bayern’s star defender Niklas Sule suffer a serious injury and Kovac’s side are far from certain defensively.

They have conceded eight goals in their last four matches which gives Olympiakos a sniff of an upset, although the Greeks have shipped five times in two Champions League matches.

With Robert Lewandowski around that spells danger.

Key stat

Bayern have scored 17 and shipped none in their last eight games against Greek teams.

Atletico Madrid v Bayer Leverkusen

Where to watch

BT Sport 1, 5.55pm

Best bet

Atletico Madrid
2pts 4-6 Betfred

Match preview

Tight games have been a feature of Atletico Madrid’s recent form with just six goals scored in total in their last six matches.

That always brings the draw into play – they have shared the spoils in five of their last seven matches – but it also means one goal is usually enough to win.

Diego Simeone’s side have conceded once in their last six matches and that defensive nous can see them past a leaky Bayer Leverkusen outfit, who need to push for maximum points having lost to Juventus and Lokomotiv Moscow.

Leverkusen have conceded in five of their six road trips this term and, despite a determination to attack, have been hammered 4-0 at Borussia Dortmund and 3-0 at Juventus and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Key stat

Atletico have won 18 and drawn four of their last 23 home European fixtures.

Shakhtar Donetsk v Dinamo Zagreb

Where to watch

BT Sport ESPN, 5.55pm

Best bet

Shakhtar Donetsk
1pt 3-4 Betfred

Match preview

Unluckily for Dinamo Zagreb, they have lost each of their last 13 away matches in the Champions League and number 14 could be coming up in Ukraine.

This Dinamo side looks better than previous editions, even if the 4-0 win over Atalanta felt like a bit of a fluke.

They defended for their lives in the loss to Manchester City and probably would have taken the 2-0 defeat at the Etihad before a ball was kicked.

Dani Olmo offers Dinamo a swift counter-attacking option, but at the prices Shakhtar look a safe enough play at odds-on.

Shakhtar have won their last 13 league matches and are unbeaten in 40 fixtures domestically in a championship which is ranked higher by Uefa than Croatia’s.

Key stat

Dinamo Zagreb have lost their last 13 away matches in the Champions League.
