Match preview
Liverpool's injury problems and hectic fixture list means that a Champions League dead rubber against Midtjylland offers the Reds some welcome respite.
Jurgen Klopp has had the occasional complaint about his side's schedule and there is no doubt that the Premier League champions have been hampered by injuries to key players including Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold this season.
So Klopp will seize the opportunity to send an experimental team to Denmark with star forwards Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino among those earning a rest.
Sunday's 4-0 Premier League win over Wolves was an impressive display from the Reds but they have found goals hard to come by in the Champions League despite winning the group with a game to spare.
The remarkable 5-0 win away to Atalanta was the exception to the rule and three weeks later they lost the reverse fixture 2-0.
Liverpool had to work hard for a pair of 1-0 wins over Ajax and their unspectacular 2-0 victory over Midtjylland on matchday two was only sealed by an injury-time penalty from Salah.
Under 2.5 goals looks a tempting bet. Klopp will not demand a bravura attacking display from his second-string while the hosts, guaranteed to finish bottom and lining up in a 5-4-1 formation, won't want to sign off with a heavy defeat.
Midtjylland started their campaign with a 4-0 home defeat to Atalanta but they have been more competitive since then, losing 2-1 and 3-1 to Ajax and claiming a 1-1 draw away to Atalanta last time out.
Key stat
Eight of Liverpool's last nine Champions League matches have featured under 2.5 goals in normal time.
