Best bets and predictions for Wednesday's group matches in the Uefa Champions League.

Zenit St Petersburg v Lazio

Where to watch

BT Sport 1, 5.55pm Wednesday

Best bet

Both teams to score
3pts 4-6 Hills

Match preview

Lazio needed two injury-time goals to nick a 4-3 victory at Torino in Serie A last weekend and the Romans' defence is hard to trust on their trip to St Petersburg.

They have conceded 12 goals in six league games this season although they showcased their attacking quality with a 3-1 home win over Borussia Dortmund on matchday one with Ciro Immobile, last season's Serie A Golden Boot, opening the scoring in the sixth minute.

Lazio's second Champions League game of the season ended 1-1 away to Club Brugge and both teams to score looks a solid bet when they travel to Zenit.

The hosts have to be positive after losing their first two group games and they have the quality to land a blow on a vulnerable visiting defence, having scored 17 goals in their last five Russian Premier League home fixtures.

Key stats

  • Zenit have kept only two clean sheets in their last 14 home matches
  • Both teams have scored in six of Lazio's last seven games
  • Lazio have conceded nine goals in their last four away matches in Serie A

Barcelona v Dynamo Kiev

Where to watch

BT Sport 3, 8pm Wednesday

Best bet

Barcelona to win 4-0
1pt 7-1 Betfair, Paddy Power

Match preview

Facing Barcelona at Camp Nou is always a daunting task and Dynamo Kiev are missing 13 senior players for the trip to Catalonia.

Nine of the squad have tested positive for coronavirus so the Ukrainians have named just 13 players in their travelling party - the minimum number required by Uefa regulations.

One more absentee would see the fixture called off but assuming it goes ahead then a wide-margin Barca win looks likely despite their patchy form in La Liga.

Ronald Koeman's men are on a four-match winless streak in Spain but they have won their first two Champions League games including a 2-0 win over a Juventus side missing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barca's European campaign last season ended with an 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in Lisbon but their record at Camp Nou is excellent and, having put five goals past Ferencvaros on matchday one, they can rack up another easy home win.

Key stats

  • Barcelona have won 14 of their last 16 Champions League matches at Camp Nou
  • Barca have taken only two points from their last four La Liga games
  • Dynamo Kiev have won one of their last ten away matches in the Champions League

Club Brugge v Borussia Dortmund

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 4, 8pm Wednesday

Best bet

Borussia Dortmund to win & under 3.5 goals
2pts 17-10 Betway, BoyleSports

Match preview

Borussia Dortmund bounced back from their 3-1 defeat at Lazio on matchday one with a 2-0 home win over Zenit St Petersburg but they needed a 78th-minute Jadon Sancho penalty to break the deadlock against the Russians.

Dortmund should pick up another three points against a leaky Club Brugge side and backing the visitors to win and under 3.5 goals could prove profitable.

Lucien Favre's men have been racking up the clean sheets in the Bundesliga this season, winning five of their six games to nil including a 3-0 victory over fellow Champions League representatives Borussia Monchengladbach.

Club Brugge have made a positive start to their European campaign, beating Zenit and drawing 1-1 with Lazio, but their domestic form doesn't bode well for a clash with the section favourites.

The hosts have taken two points from their last three Belgian league games and they could be outclassed by BVB.

Key stats

  • Both teams have scored in Club Brugge's last five matches
  • Borussia Dortmund have won five of their last six games to nil
  • Dortmund have lost six of their last eight away matches in the Champions League by at least a two-goal margin

Ferencvaros v Juventus

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 2, 8pm Wednesday

Best bet

Either team to score a penalty
1pt 2-1 Betfair, Paddy Power

Match preview

Juventus are still finding their feet under new coach Andrea Pirlo so they will be relieved to have Cristiano Ronaldo back after missing four games due to a positive coronavirus test.

Ronaldo returned in characteristic fashion, scoring twice as a substitute in a 4-1 weekend win at Spezia, and he should be fit enough to start against a Ferencvaros side who lost 5-1 in Barcelona before a 2-2 draw with Dynamo Kiev.

One stat that may interest Juve's Portuguese star is that the Hungarian champions went behind to a penalty in both of those games and they also conceded from the spot in last weekend's league draw with Fehervar.

The 2-1 that a penalty is scored in the match looks tempting. Ronaldo's second goal against Spezia was a spot-kick while his old rival Lionel Messi converted an injury-time penalty to secure a 2-0 win for Barcelona at Juventus on matchday two.

Key stats

  • Five of Ferencvaros's last six Champions League games have featured over 2.5 goals
  • Juventus have won only one of their last seven away matches in Serie A
  • Juve have kept one clean sheet in their last five games in all competitions

RB Leipzig v Paris St-Germain

Where to watch

BT Sport ESPN, 8pm Wednesday

Best bet

Draw
1pt 13-5 Betfair, Betfred

Match preview

Paris St-Germain brushed aside RB Leipzig 3-0 in last season's Champions League semi-final but the French champions may not have things all their own way in the rematch in Germany.

With Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi set to miss the game through injury, last term's runners-up look far less intimidating in attack although the market move in Leipzig's favour could have gone too far.

They were thumped 5-0 by Manchester United on matchday two before a 1-0 Bundesliga defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend so the best value could be the draw.

A depleted PSG forward line heaps responsibility on the shoulders of Everton loanee Moise Kean, who scored both goals in last week's win over Istanbul Basaksehir.

Thomas Tuchel's side have hit their stride in Ligue 1, winning their last seven games by an aggregate score of 23-1, but they may have to settle for a share of the points in Leipzig.

Key stats

  • Leipzig have won their last four home games, scoring 11 goals
  • PSG have won seven of their last nine matches in all competitions to nil
  • Both teams have scored in only two of PSG's last 13 games

Sevilla v Krasnodar

Where to watch

BT Sport Extra 5, 8pm Wednesday

Best bet

Sevilla to win to nil
2pts Evs Betfair, Paddy Power

Match preview

Entertainment has been scarce in Sevilla's matches recently and visitors Krasnodar are unlikely to change that trend on matchday three of the Champions League.

The Russians lost 4-0 at home to Chelsea last time out, claiming less than 30 per cent of possession, and they lack the tools to trouble a reliable home rearguard.

Sevilla's Europa League triumph last season was based on a solid defence, at least until their 3-2 win over Inter in the final, and they have kept clean sheets against Chelsea (0-0) and Rennes (1-0) this term.

Julen Lopetegui's men go into this game after three straight defeats in La Liga, all by a one-goal margin, but they should have the quality to grind out a victory over Krasnodar.

Sevilla conceded just 14 goals in 19 home league games last season while Krasnodar lost league fixtures to Spartak Moscow and Akhmat Grozny either side of the drubbing by Chelsea.

Key stats

  • Six of Sevilla's last seven matches have ended with under 2.5 goals
  • Sevilla have kept a clean sheet in six of their last eight home league games
  • Krasnodar have won only one of their last six matches
