Champions League group stage: what is still to be decided on matchday six?

A guide to how the Uefa Champions League groups will be decided in Wednesday's matchday six fixtures.

Champions League Group A permutations

Champions League holders Bayern Munich sealed top spot by winning their first four games and they host a Lokomotiv Moscow side who cannot qualify for the last 16.

RB Salzburg need a home win over Atletico Madrid to pinch second place. If Atletico avoid defeat they will go through and Salzburg will finish third unless Lokomotiv defeat Bayern at the Allianz Arena.

Champions League Group B permutations

All four teams can still qualify from Group B as big guns Real Madrid and Inter are in third and fourth spots after five games.

Real are 4-5 favourites to top the group which they will do if they beat Gladbach at home and Shakhtar fail to win at Inter.

Gladbach qualify if they avoid defeat at the Bernabeu or if the game at San Siro ends in a draw. Shakhtar progress if they beat Inter or if both matches are drawn.

Inter are the only side who cannot win the group. To make the last 16 they must beat Shakhtar and hope there is a winner in the Real-Gladbach clash.

To win group 4-5 Real Madrid, 13-8 Borussia Monchengladbach, 9-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

To qualify 1-4 Real Madrid, 4-6 Inter Milan, 10-11 Borussia Monchengladbach, 5-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

Champions League Group C permutations

Manchester City have won the group and Porto are assured of the runners-up spot.

Olympiakos are in the box seat for a Europa League place although Marseille can claim third place if they get a better result away to City than the Greeks manage at home to Porto.

Champions League Group D permutations

Liverpool's 1-0 win over Ajax on matchday five secured top spot and their final opponents Midtjylland are inked in to finish bottom.

That leaves Ajax and Atalanta scrapping for second place in Amsterdam. If Ajax win then they go through while last season's quarter-finalists Atalanta progress if they avoid defeat – an 8-13 shot according to the qualification betting.
