Champions League

Bayern Munich have an obvious chance in the Champions League but the value lies with Liverpool, who have added talented attacker Luis Diaz in January and look set up to flourish on difficult European nights.

The Reds were drawn in a testing Champions League group alongside Atletico Madrid, Porto and Milan but handled it superbly and had first place wrapped up with two games to spare.

Jurgen Klopp's side are chasing Manchester City in the Premier League title race but the Champions League looks a high priority for them, and while a round-of-16 tie against Inter is tougher than they might have wanted, it should not be too much of a problem for a team of their quality and experience.

Liverpool had to rely on their defensive strength while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were at the Africa Cup of Nations but the duo still have massive roles to play over the rest of the season.

Europa League

Sevilla have won the Europa League four times in the last eight seasons and they have a decent chance of lifting the trophy again this year in front of their own supporters with the final at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

The Andalusians are giving Real Madrid a run for their money in La Liga, and they continued their squad strengthening in January with the loan signing of Anthony Martial from Manchester United.

Barcelona are facing Napoli in a tough knockout round playoff clash, but they also look obvious contenders for a competition which has been won seven times by Spanish clubs across the last ten seasons.

There are several other potential winners from a strong field, including West Ham, who were impressive in the group stage and have the capability of raising their game for the big occasions.

Europa Conference League

Marseille would have hoped to fare better in the Europa League but, having finished third in a tricky group behind Galatasaray and Lazio, they look poised for a decent run in the Europa Conference League.

Jorge Sampaoli's side have come on strong in Ligue 1 this winter and are in the mix to qualify for next season's Champions League.

However, the Europa Conference League offers them arguably their best chance of silverware and they are among the biggest hitters left in the competition, alongside Roma and Leicester.

Roma are inconsistent and hard to trust, having lost 6-1 away to Bodo/Glimt in the group stage, and Leicester's lack of depth could be exposed if they save their best players for Premier League fixtures.
