While new Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers refused to admit that last week’s Champions League defeat to Lincoln Red Imps was an embarrassment, the football world has been reluctant to accept his rose-tinted view and the Bhoys need a comprehensive win in tonight’s second leg to restore some pride.

The Gibraltan outfit have just five full-time players, but Lee Casciaro’s 48th-minute goal was enough for them to go to Parkhead with a lead and reward those who backed them at 18-1.

It is three weeks until Celtic’s opening Ladbrokes Premiership match against Hearts and the team are still getting to grips with their pre-season schedule.
