Copa del Rey
8.30pm Tuesday

Celta Vigo have beaten Eibar twice this season already and can complete the hat-trick to move into the last 16 of the Copa del Rey.

Celta fans love a cup run having reached the Copa semis in each of the last two seasons and boss Juan Carlos Unzue will send a strong team out for the second leg of this tie.

He made one or two tweaks for the first game in Eibar – and won 2-1 just a few weeks after they had beaten Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men 4-0 in La Liga – including starts for Emre Mor and John Guidetti, who scored the winner.

Guidetti has recovered from a heel injury and may start again if Unzue wants to rest top scorer Iago Aspas, who has bagged seven in his last six. Centre-back Sergi Gomez is definitely out through injury.

There should be a decent crowd at the Balaidos and also in Celta’s favour is that they have had an extra 24 hours off having beaten Leganes 1-0 on Friday night. Eibar beat Alaves on Saturday.

Eibar have pulled away from immediate danger courtesy of back-to-back wins against Betis and Alaves, although both successes were against ten men for long periods.

Mendilibar won’t have given up on the tie just yet though he may still decide to give 33-year-old top scorer Charles the night off and use ex-Manchester United misfit Bebe to lead his attack.

Eibar have lost five of their seven away games this season.

Recommendation
Celta Vigo
2pts 5-6 general
