Union Berlin v Bayern Munich

BT Sport 1, 5pm

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich may ordinarily have faced a tricky trip to take on Union Berlin but the plucky outsiders rely on their atmospheric crowd more than most in Germany's top flight.

Union have beaten top-four outfits Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach but this game will have a different vibe, being played behind closed doors, while there was another blow for the hosts following the news boss Urs Fischer won't be allowed to be at the game.

Fischer broke strict quarantine rules earlier this week to visit his family following a bereavement and it would be an enormous surprise should Bayern be turned over.

The Munich men were in supreme form prior to the enforced break, claiming 31 points from a possible 33 in the Bundesliga and destroying Chelsea 3-0 in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge.

Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman have returned to full fitness, although it is not easy to find ways of supporting the 2-9 favourites.

Those desperate to get involved may want to consider Bayern to score over 2.5 goals, particularly if a lack of fitness plays a part for Union in the latter stages of the match.

The new rule which allows five substitutions to compensate for a lack of training in the last two months should certainly favour the bigger clubs and they don't come any bigger than Bayern in Germany.

Bayern have scored three or more goals in six of their seven league away matches since sacking Niko Kovac and replacing him with the impressive Hansi Flick, who has restored Thomas Muller to the starting 11, and demanded a more aggressive, attacking approach.

Cologne v Mainz

BT Sport 1, 2.30pm

Cologne's mascot - Hennes the goat - is currently banned from the stadium but that should not stop the hosts from obliging against Mainz.

There is a chance the suspension of the league has totally destroyed Cologne's rhythm, but if they can come out in anything like the same kind of shape then a shade of odds-on looks a decent price.

Cologne have won eight of their last 11 Bundesliga matches and the three defeats in that time came in away games at Borussia Dortmund and Monchengladbach as well as at home to Bayern Munich.

All of those sides sit in the top four and are several notches above Sunday's bottom-half visitors.

Cologne have a solid side with quality through the spine in Timo Horn, Jonas Hector, Mark Uth and Jhon Cordoba, while Mainz are increasingly reliant on Robin Quaison to provide their moments of magic.

Swede Quaison has scored 12 times in 24 Bundesliga appearances, beating his previous career tally by four already, after contributing 35 per cent of Mainz's total goals this term.

It feels unsustainable for a Mainz outfit that conceded eight at Leipzig and six at Bayern earlier on this season.

Greuther Furth v Hamburg

BT Sport 2, 12.30pm

There is also second division action live on BT Sport with fallen giants Hamburg desperately trying to force their way back up to the Bundesliga.

Hamburg, who have won only one of their last ten on the road, could be considered a touch short at 10-11 to win at Greuther Furth.
